The Full Story in One Day

This is the experience that ties the whole Cape Adieu operation together. Morning: board the Salty Brumby for a full-day fishing charter — offshore reefs, harbour grounds, wherever the fish are running. You'll land your catch and hand it straight to the chef on the Cape Adieu alongside the wharf.

Evening: board the Cape Adieu for the sunset dinner cruise. Your catch is now on the menu — cooked by the chef, served alongside a full four-course dinner, while the Cape Adieu slips out into the sunset and the harbour turns gold. How the Day Runs

One day, two vessels, the full Cape Adieu story. Here's roughly how it flows from a morning on the water to a dinner under the sunset — timed around the tide on the day.

Morning · From the Wharf

Board the Salty Brumby

Meet the crew at Stokes Hill Wharf and head out for a full-day fishing charter. Where we fish depends on the tide and the season — harbour grounds, reef country, wherever's firing — with all gear, bait and local knowledge sorted.

On the Water · The Catch

Land Your Fish

A full day chasing reef fish, sportfish and table species. The crew look after your catch, fillet it down and keep it iced and fresh, ready to hand straight to the chef when we're back alongside.

Late Afternoon · Changeover

Catch to the Kitchen

Back at the wharf, your fish goes to the chef on the Cape Adieu and you've got time to freshen up before the evening. Two vessels, side by side — the working boat done, the dinner boat ready.

Evening · Cook & Cruise

Your Catch, Four Courses, Sunset

Board the Cape Adieu for the sunset dinner cruise. The chef serves your own catch as part of a full four-course dinner while the harbour turns gold and the city lights come up. The best possible end to a day on the water.

Two Vessels, One Crew

Cape Adieu runs two very different boats, and this is the one day you get both. The Salty Brumby is the working charter boat — rigged for fishing, fast to the grounds, run by skippers who know these waters. The Cape Adieu is the dinner vessel — comfortable, licensed, and set up for a proper four-course meal on the water.

It's the same crew and the same standard across both. The whole point of the day is the handover in between: the fish you caught in the morning becomes the dinner you sit down to at sunset. Nothing on a menu beats that.

Catch, Cook & Cruise FAQs

What's included in the price?

The $754 per person covers the full-day fishing charter in the morning — all gear, bait and ice — and the sunset dinner cruise in the evening, including a four-course dinner with your own catch on the menu. It's the two signature Cape Adieu experiences in one day.

What if we don't catch much?

It happens — fishing's fishing. The four-course dinner is a full menu in its own right, so you'll eat brilliantly whatever the day brings. On a good day your catch becomes a course alongside it; on a quiet day the dinner stands on its own.

Do I need fishing experience?

No. The morning charter suits all skill levels — the crew rig everything, coach you through it, and put you on the fish. First-timers land a feed with us regularly.

How many people can do it?

It works for couples, families and groups. Get in touch with your numbers and we'll tailor the day — the fishing boat takes up to 8, and the dinner cruise can scale to larger groups by arrangement.

Can non-fishers join just the dinner?

Yes. Some of the group can fish while others join the sunset dinner cruise in the evening only. Let us know how your group splits and we'll sort the pricing to match.

When does it run?

On request, timed around the tides and the season. Get in touch and we'll lock in a date that gives you the best of both the fishing and the evening on the water.
